Lep-Tiger RFC Club House ReOpening July 23, 2016

The Antediluvians RFC had a great day on Saturday July 23 at the newly renovated Lep-Tigers RFC clubhouse and fields. We played the curtain raiser game against the Lep-Tiger old boys on a picture perfect day.

The Lep-Tigers started the game quickly using their youthful speedy outside backs to move the ball quickly to the outside and down the field. The Antediluvians played a tough game in the forwards and controlled allot of the play and the field position during the game. The Lep-Tigers were very efficient at capitalizing on any breakdowns to spin the ball out and fly down the field. On one play we were knocking on the door to score a push over try, only to have the play reversed by a 95 yard run into our end zone. A highlight of the game was having Norm Suvan Senior playing with his sons Chris and Norm Junior for the Lep-Tigers. Reminiscent to Gordie Howe playing hockey with his sons. As all old boy games finish, the official score was a tie. It was great to see some old and new faces on and off the field to enjoy the old boy rugby comarderie. Our game was followed by a number of other men’s and women’s rugby games, and some great hosting by the Lep-Tigers RFC. Thanks to everyone who came out to make it a classic day.
